Resumption.

Construction work planning

We routinely act for property owners in Queensland who are affected by resumptions including road widenings, powerlines, pipelines, rail corridors and easements.

With a background in law and property valuation, we are in a unique position to provide specialist legal advice on all issues affecting property owners.

You have rights to object to the process and we assist you or your community in making objections. If you are experiencing hardship, you can apply to sell your property before the resumption occurs.

Typically, proponents will approach property owners well in advance of the resumption taking effect to negotiate the compensation payable for the land taken. At this stage, we work with property valuers and other relevant experts to formulate claims for compensation.  You are entitled to be compensated for the value of the land taken and disturbance costs such as the costs to purchase a replacement property, removal costs etc. Every case is different and requires forensic analysis.

We then represent property owners at without prejudice meetings, where required, to negotiation a settlement with the proponent.
